Compasionate Lane

It was three or four years ago,mid to late June,it could of been five years ago.That really does not matter,because Lane knew I loved to garden. Over the years after Lane moved back from living in Edmonton, every few months we would barbecue beef filet, lobster or rack of lamb. This special day together, Lane wanted for me to go shopping for bedding out flowers to plant in some flower beds at a chuurch that he attended on 17 ave. not far from where he lived. It's a hot day, and when are getting into Carmen's van,Lane swats at a wasp and gets stung, right in the hand ,between two fingers! We go to the superstore, he buys a flat of Marigolds and Petunias. On the way to the church, his hand has swollen so much, we stopped at a drug store for benadryll. While planting the flowers at the church, Lane sees a guy across the street sitting there in a very unusual state. Lane realized this guy was a fellow workmate from the past that had fallen into alcohol and drug abuse. Lane goes over and talks to him for a couple of minutes. I distinctly remember Lane coming back across the street and borrowing my phone to call a cab for this guy. While Lane was using my phone across the street he digs into pocket and gives this guy all his money!!! That was COMPASIONATE Lane!!
