Eleanore Scheper
March 13, 1928 - December 23, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanore Scheper (nee Stumborg) announces her passing on December 23, 2013 at the age of 85 years, in Spiritwood, SK. Eleanore is survived by her 5 daughters: Janet (Al) Richter of Rabbit Lake, SK, Judith (Larry) Krakalovich of Shellbrook, SK, Marilyn (Don) Breker of Humboldt, SK, Rita (David) Dash of Kipling, SK and Carol (Scott) Grierson of Saskatoon, SK; as well as her 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Eleanore was predeceased by her husband: Henry (1994); her parents: Harry & Mary Stumborg; her father and mother-in-law: Henry & Bernadine Scheper; her 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 great-grandchild. Mom was born the seventh child to Harry & Mary Stumborg on March 13, 1928 in Bruno, SK. She grew up and took her schooling at Bruno, SK and later entered nursing school at Humboldt, SK where she graduated in 1950 with her RN designation. She went on to marry Henry Scheper on November 22, 1950 and they took up married life on the farm at Annaheim, SK and raised their 5 girls. They lived there until they retired to Humboldt in 1987. Mom served on the CWL for 63 years, first in Annaheim and then in Humboldt and she was very proud of that. She was also involved in the lay ministry at St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt, SK for many years, portering the residents to and from mass weekly. She was also very active in Senior bowling, winning many tournaments and representing Humboldt in the Senior Provincials twice. Mom also loved to garden, winning an award for best flowers in a yard and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. After Dad’s passing, Mom continued to live in Humboldt until her more to the assisted living condo in Saskatoon. From there she was moved to Spiritwood and District Health Complex as her health was deteriorating and she needed extra care. She lived there until her passing. The family would like to thank the doctors and the nursing staff of the Spiritwood and District Health Complex for the excellent care given to Mom while she lived there. It greatly aided in making her last years good ones. A Funeral for Eleanore was held on place January 2, 2014 with visitation at 12:30 pm and Mass to follow at 2:00 pm, St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 809 - 10th Street, Humboldt, SK.
